Orange County Government: Through its economic development packages (version 1.0 and 2.0), Orange County generously supports many economic development initiatives championed by the agencies of the UCF Entrepreneurship Network. UCF-CEI benefits most directly from funds that support the UCF Venture Lab's technology venture advising capacity.
Florida High Tech Corridor Council: The Florida High Tech Corridor Council also supports internships that promote commercialization of innovations emerging from corridor
university research (including UCF, University of South Florida,
and University of Florida). Students engaged in these internships conduct feasibility analysis and develop business plans for especially promising university technologies. The Council also provides funds to support Ph.D. dissertation research related to technology venture emergence and success.
Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC): The Metro Orlando EDC sponsors student project teams that match graduate students from elite university research programs with MBA students. These teams conduct thorough market analysis and develop comprehensive business plans for commercializing UCF technologies. The Central Florida Technology Partnerships (CFTP), an agency of the Metro Orlando EDC, also supports CEI business planning processes.
Enterprise Florida (EFI) : Enterprise Florida is the public-private
partnership responsible for leading Florida's statewide economic development
efforts. The organization's mission is to diversify Florida's economy and create
better paying jobs for its citizens by supporting, attracting and helping to
create businesses in innovative, high-growth industries. EFI works with a statewide network of regional and local economic development organizations to continually improve Florida's business climate and ensure its global competitiveness.
