UCF-CEI is located in Rooms 134 and 135 of the UCF College of Business Administration (opening late 2006 - see us in Room 130 of the UCF College of Business Administration until then). With help from Orange County Government support, CEI provides computer facilities, video conference and meeting facilities, research periodicals, current magazines, books, videos, software, and other resources to UCF ’s innovators and entrepreneurs. The CEI facility serves as a community center for entrepreneurial endeavors conceived and developed on the UCF campus and in the Central Florida community.
UCF aspires to be America’s leading partnership university. UCF-CEI has taken this desire to heart by partnering with several UCF agencies who share our interests in entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic development. Consequently, the center also houses the UCF Venture Lab, and hosts advisors from UCF's SBDC, Office of Technology Transfer, and Orlando chapter of SCORE. We believe we are the first academic center to co-locate academic, advising, and administrative resources for entrepreneurs in a "one-stop shop" like this.
However, our partnering ethic extends beyond the university. Several government and economic development partners support our efforts, and we have earned significant grants from the Kauffman Foundation and the NCIIA. We also use our network ties to draw service providers, industry experts, and business leaders into our courses, workshops, and advising processes. Students help too by conducting field projects and internships. In short, our processes and relationships are designed to enrich our region’s economic ecosystem.
