2003 - This grant for $33,000 provided initial support for the development of our entrepreneurship curriculum and internship program. Our undergraduate track in the management major was a direct result of this investment. Also, our Technology Incubator Internship Program provided six outstanding MBA students with a comprehensive understanding of technology development, commercialization, and entrepreneurial strategy.
2004 - This $14,500 grant enabled our faculty to develop an interdisciplinary business planning course. Science, technology and business students work together to develop commercialization plans for university research. This course, and the subsequent curriculum offerings we have developed to further spread entrepreneurship education across the UCF campus, provides an institutional link among UCF's robust engineering, technology, and business programs. It also promotes the missions of the UCF Venture Lab, Office of Technology Transfer, and Technology Incubator.
2005 - A $21,000 Genesis Program grant was awarded to promote the development of environmental and socially responsible technology ventures. Multi-disciplinary business planning teams and MBA interns developed exciting proposals for zero-energy home designs utilizing UCF flexible solar panel research, greenroof installations based on UCF stormwater management research, non-embrionic stem cell therapies based on UCF biomolecular research, and music education software for blind children.
