The state of Florida consistently ranks as one of the nation's most dynamic environments for new venture creation. Many of Florida’s universities and colleges have established entrepreneurship education programs to foster and guide entrepreneurial aspirations. These programs seek to improve the impact of higher education and research in the communities we serve.
The Directors of several of the State’s most active collegiate entrepreneurship centers are pursuing mutually beneficial partnerships throughout the state that improve the quality, visibility and impact of our respective initiatives. We believe that by working cooperatively to share best practices and innovations we can further enhance the state’s reputation as an entrepreneurship “hot spot.”
The Sunshine State Venture Challenge is a first step toward building relationships and professional networks among those who provoke new venture creation in the state’s campuses and communities. This event will engage students, faculty, business leaders, and government leaders from all regions of the state, and showcase exciting proposals created by high achieving students invited from over 30 universities and colleges. Over time, we hope to spur the realization of our students’ visions, create high-quality jobs for our graduates, and improve the economy and quality of life for Florida’s residents.
